Consent has to be a clear yes, given freely, asked for each thing separately, and as easy to take back as to give. The consent register keeps the notices that ask for it and every answer given to them, so you can prove both that someone agreed and that they withdrew.
Who can do this
An owner, editor or contributor of your workspace can write notices and record decisions. Allowing a website to use a notice and issuing its key needs an owner or editor. A viewer can see the register.
Find the register
Open Records & controls → Consent. The register lists each notice, Where it’s shown, Who it’s for, its Status and how many people said yes. The figures at the top include Decisions captured, People said yes, Taken back and Need fixing.
A decision is never edited. A withdrawal is written as a new row, so the original yes stays readable.
Write a notice
Press New notice. The page is in three parts.
- Audience & collection: a name only you see, the Website or app, Who sees it and How you ask.
- Consent purposes: one row for each thing you ask. Say it the way you would to a customer, in one sentence, and answer Can they refuse?. Press Add another for the next one.
- Notice content & ownership: The wording people read, the Company responsible, Who they can contact, and Give people a way to change their mind.
What people will see shows the notice as you type. Press Save as draft to keep working, or Publish when every check passes.
What stops a notice being published
- It asks for nothing.
- A purpose cannot be refused. If people cannot refuse it, the honest basis is that it is necessary to run the service, and it does not belong on a consent notice.
- There is no way to take consent back.
- It does not say whose notice it is or how to reach them.
Nothing can arrive already ticked. Asiri cannot make a pre-ticked purpose.
Changing a published notice
A published notice cannot be edited, because every answer is proof of what the person was shown. Open the notice and press Start a new version. The earlier version stays readable as proof for everybody who answered it.
On the notice
The tabs are What you ask for, How it looks, Who said what and Install.
Who said what separates People you can name from Visitors you cannot, and filters by Still agreed, Taken back and Never agreed. Nothing there can be edited or deleted.
Put the banner on your site
On the Install tab:
- Publish the notice. A draft records nothing.
- Say which sites may use it. Enter each site exactly as a browser sends it, then press Allow this site. Decisions from any other site are refused.
- Issue a key for the banner. Press Issue a key. You are asked to confirm it is you. The key is shown once, so copy it straight away.
- Put it on your site, using the code shown.
The tab counts what is still to do before anything records.
One person's consent
Under Check one person, enter Their reference and press Look up. Asiri holds a name and a reference for a person, not their email address.
The page shows everything they were asked and every decision they made. Press Export as proof to export it.
To withdraw everything for them, press Withdraw everything, say Why, and on whose instruction, and press Take them all back. Anything resting on those permissions stops being allowed when it is recorded. Withdrawing consent does not answer an erasure request. If they also asked for deletion, answer that under Privacy requests.
Common questions
"Can we bundle everything into one yes?" No. A single yes covering everything is not consent to any part of it.
"Can we fix a typo in a live notice?" Start a new version. The live one cannot change.
