Ending an engagement early has two parts. Either side can give written notice under the agreement's ending clause. Only the company can end the engagement itself.
Where to find it
In the engagement, press Manage. The panel is headed Agreement controls and history.
Give notice
Under Notices and ending the agreement, either side can give the other written notice and keep a record of their acknowledgement. This is possible once both sides have signed the agreement and it has an ending clause.
- Press Record a notice. Press Review the agreement first if you want to check the notice period.
- Choose the Proposed last service date. Check the notice period in your signed agreement. The date is a proposal.
- Write Your notice: what you intend to end, and any handover.
- Press Review notice, check it under Review your notice, then press Record and notify. Press Edit notice to change it first.
A notice does not end the engagement, withdraw access or cancel an invoice. The agreement, access and payments stay as they are.
Answer a notice
The notice shows Awaiting acknowledgement until the other side answers.
- The other side presses Acknowledge receipt, can edit the Acknowledgement and presses Record response. Acknowledging confirms receipt only. It does not change the agreement.
- The sender can press Withdraw notice, say Why are you withdrawing this notice? and press Record response. The history is kept.
End the engagement
Only the company's side can end the engagement, and only an owner or editor.
- In Manage, write the Recorded reason.
- Under Move engagement to, choose Ended.
- Press Review ending.
- Read what will happen, then press End engagement now, or Keep engagement open.
The practice's authority and access through the engagement end immediately. Check the signed notice period and agree any handover before you continue.
The engagement then shows Engagement ended.
What ending does not change
Signed agreements, invoices, receipts and notice history stay available. Ending does not refund a payment, waive an outstanding fee or confirm that the agreement's notice requirements have been met. Settle those between you, under the signed agreement.
Common questions
"Can the practice end the engagement?" Not by itself. The practice gives notice, and the company ends the engagement.
"Can the company stop the practice's access without ending the engagement?" Yes. An owner or editor can withdraw the practice's authority instead. See the guide to approving a practice access request.
"Does Asiri refund anything?" No. Paystack splits each payment when it is collected. Nothing is held, so there is nothing for Asiri to release or refund.
