Eri helping with evidence requests

How Eri helps a company reuse a document it already holds to answer an auditor's request or support a requirement, and what a person still decides.

Updated

Eri can help you reuse a document you already hold. You choose the document, Eri drafts how it helps, and you approve and apply it. Eri never sends or links anything by itself.

Who can do this

Members of the company's own workspace, except viewers. A firm working in your workspace does not see this help.

Where it appears

  • On an evidence request item that asks for a document, while it is open or was rejected. Open Answer with a library document.
  • On a programme requirement, beside Link or replace evidence.

Press Ask Eri to reuse evidence.

Choose the document

Under Reuse an existing document:

  1. Choose the Library document version. Only versions you can already see are listed.
  2. Press Use selected version.

The page shows the document, the destination and the Exact source pins. Eri works only from documents already in your library. If you need a new one, upload it to the library first.

Ask Eri for a draft

Eri opens beside the document. Ask it for a draft. The draft appears under Review evidence reuse, marked Draft ready.

  1. Press Read selected proof to check the document itself.
  2. Check and edit the draft. For a request item, that is the Answer note. For a requirement, it is the Criterion, Coverage scope, Limitations and Reason.
  3. Press Approve exact reuse, or Dismiss draft to throw it away.
  4. Then press Supply exact file answer for a request item, or Link evidence to requirement for a requirement.

If the document or the destination changes before you apply it, the draft is marked Changed. Choose the current version and ask for a fresh draft.

What a person still decides

Applying a draft only supplies the answer or makes the link. Evidence acceptance, assessment and independent review remain separate. On an audit, your auditor still accepts or rejects the answer.

An uploaded document is integrity checked. That is not independent verification.

When a firm asks for evidence

When a DPCO firm writes a request, Eri sits beside the form under What you are asking for. It suggests asking for the gaps first, and says whether the engagement is authorised.

Common questions

"Can Eri upload documents for me?" No. It reuses documents already in your library.

"Does Eri send the answer to the auditor?" No. You approve and apply it.

"Does an applied answer mean the auditor accepted it?" No. The auditor still decides.
