Reading and exporting the audit trail

What the audit trail records, how to filter it by person, record and change, how to read one record's history, and how to export it as evidence.

Updated

The audit trail records how each answer in Asiri came to be the answer: who changed what, when, from what to what, and why. It includes the changes Eri made. Nothing in it can be edited. It is append only.

Who can do this

Anyone in your workspace, including a viewer, can read the audit trail and export it.

Find it

Open Records & controls → Audit trail.

Filter it

At the top, one toggle switches between What mattered, which shows only significant events, and Everything. Turn on Outside your organisation to see only acts by people who are not members of your workspace. Then narrow it by:

  • Who: one person, or Anyone.
  • Record: one record, or Any record.
  • Change: one kind of change, or Any change.

Press Load older events to read further back.

One record's history

Many records have a link to their own history, which opens the trail filtered to that record. Press Show the whole trail to clear it.

What a reviewer looks for

Under About this trail, the page counts the Events recorded, those Marked significant, those By people outside, and the Oldest event.

Acts by people who are not members of your workspace are the first thing a reviewer asks to see. They are usually legitimate: an operator under support access, or someone from a firm you engaged.

What is not in the trail

Changes made directly in your own systems. Asiri records what happened inside Asiri. A gap between the two is a real gap.

Export it as evidence

Press Export as evidence. The file is built in the background and expires. Every event goes in, with its actor, time, before-and-after value and the reason given at the time, not just the filtered view on screen. Collect it from Reports.

Common questions

"Can someone delete an entry?" No. The trail is append only.

"Why can't I see a change we made last week?" If it was made in your own systems rather than in Asiri, it is not here.
