Reviewing and signing the agreement

How a company reads the agreement in the conversation, asks about a clause, and signs it in its own name.

Updated

When the practice has drafted the agreement, the next-step panel says Review and sign the agreement. Open Agreement & scope in the conversation to read it.

Who can do this

An owner or editor of your workspace.

What you are reading

The agreement is one document, headed Engagement agreement with its version number. It is prepared from the accepted quotation. Press View agreed scope to see the scope, fees and payment schedule it carries.

If the practice has revised it, What changed says which parts moved.

Asking about a clause

Press Ask a question on any clause. Write Your question or requested change and press Request clarification. Nobody can sign while a question is unanswered. The practice either explains the clause or revises the agreement.

Signing

  1. Enter Your full name and Your role. You name yourself as the company's signatory. The practice does not do it for you.
  2. Tick I have reviewed this agreement and the linked scope, fees and payment schedule.
  3. Press Sign this version.

Your signature applies to this exact version. Any later change needs a new version and fresh signatures from both sides.

What signing does and does not do

Signing records the agreement. It does not charge you and it does not give the practice access to your records. Payment follows the agreed invoices. Access is approved separately, after both sides have signed.

When both sides have signed, the next step is paying the first invoice if the agreement asks for payment before work starts, then the practice's access request.

Common questions

"What if I typed my name wrong?" If you have not signed yet, correct it before you press Sign this version. If you have signed, the signature is recorded against that version. Ask the practice to prepare a revised agreement.

"Can our legal team review it first?" Yes. Take the time you need. Nothing happens until you sign, and you can ask questions on any clause meanwhile.
