This entity settings

How a workspace records its registered identity, contact details, public name, Commission registration tier and reference, and group membership.

Updated

This entity is the company this workspace is, and how it is registered with the Commission. A subsidiary with its own CAC number is its own company, and needs its own workspace and its own tier.

Who can do this

Anyone in the workspace can read this page. Anyone who can edit the company's records can record the registered identity and choose the name it publishes under. Only an owner or editor can create a group or attach a workspace to one, and only where your plan includes groups.

Find it

Open Settings and choose This entity.

Registered identity

How the company is named on its incorporation, and where a data subject reaches it. Every public notice opens with these facts, so a notice cannot be composed until they are recorded.

Press Record it, or Change it if they are already there. Give the Registered name, Company number, Registered address, Where people write to you, Telephone and Data protection address, and press Record it.

Where your privacy contact is published

This panel lists the published documents that state your contact address. A published version keeps its wording, so a corrected address appears only in versions published after the change.

Published under

The name in the web address of everything this workspace publishes. Your privacy notice and your Trust Centre both sit under it.

Press Choose a name, or Change it. Under The name, use lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens, and press Take this name or Change the name. Changing the name breaks every link anybody already has, so change it only when you must.

Commission registration

The badge shows Recorded, Not recorded or Not read. When a registration is recorded, the panel shows its tier, why that tier, its reference, and when it was registered and renews. A registration is recorded on the filing screen, not here.

Several workspaces, one billing relationship

A group puts several company workspaces on one invoice, and the invoice is the only thing they share. Each company still registers, files and answers for itself, and no workspace in the group can read another's registers.

Common questions

"What is the difference between Not recorded and Not read?" Not recorded means no registration is recorded against this workspace. Not read means Asiri could not read it for you, so the page does not say either way.

"Do I need a separate workspace for a subsidiary?" Yes. A subsidiary with its own CAC number is its own company.
