The audit filing package

How a DPCO firm prepares the outward package for an annual return, downloads it, files it with the NDPC outside Asiri, and records what happened.

Updated

The filing package is what goes out of the audit: the report, its opinion and the evidence you choose to disclose. Asiri prepares it and keeps the signed version. It does not send anything to the NDPC. You file the return yourself, then record what happened.

Who can do this

Firm members who can work on the audit prepare the package. Recording a filing event needs the authority to file: a current DPCO licence and, if your firm has named who may sign, a person on that list.

Open the package

Open the audit, go to Report and press Filing package. It appears on statutory audits. The page is headed Annual return package.

To write the report itself, press Open CAR report editor. The report needs an independent review before it can be signed.

Prepare the package

  1. Under Intended evidence annexures, tick only the evidence intended for external disclosure. Private working papers and unrelated attachments stay outside the package.
  2. For each file you tick, write the Intended disclosure.
  3. Press Prepare package.

The page shows the unsigned preparation and its version number. To change it, press Prepare a new exact version. A preview is unsigned and is marked as a draft.

If preparation could not be confirmed, press Check preparation status before preparing again.

Signing seals it

Signing the audit opinion seals the prepared package. The page then shows Signed immutable package, with its fingerprint. These exact files are kept with the opinion. Later changes in the company's workspace do not change them.

See the guide to signing the audit opinion.

Download the files

Press the download buttons for the PDF, the Word file where there is a CAR report, the spreadsheet and the manifest. Each chosen annexure has its own Download annexure.

Compatibility with the NDPC portal's upload is not verified. Downloading a package does not submit it, prove acceptance or guarantee a certificate.

File it with the NDPC

The DPCO files outside Asiri. Submit the return through the NDPC's own channel.

Record what happened

Under Record an external filing event:

  1. Choose the Outcome: submitted, accepted, rejected or follow-up.
  2. Enter When it happened and the External reference.
  3. Write What happened / correction reason.
  4. Under Correct or follow up an earlier event, choose an earlier event, or leave it as New event.
  5. Choose a Private receipt (optional). To add one, open Upload or inspect private receipt files, upload it, wait for its scan, then press Refresh receipt files.
  6. Press Record external event.

This records an event that has already happened. It sends nothing to the NDPC.

External filing history lists every event. A correction shows which event it follows or corrects.

Common questions

"Does Asiri submit the return for us?" No. You file it yourself, then record it here.

"Can we change the package after the opinion is signed?" No. The signed package is fixed. To correct the audit, open a correction from the frozen audit.

"Are all our working papers in the package?" No. Only the evidence you chose as annexures goes out. Working papers stay private.
