Deleting your Asiri account
One address, a person on the other end of it, and a plain account of what goes and what stays. We hold our customers to this; it would be strange to make you hunt for ours.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Asiri Compliance Ltd
To delete your account, write to security@asiri.ng from the address the account is held under. We act within 30 days of confirming it is you.
What an Asiri account is
Your account is your work email address. There is no password: you sign in with a six-digit code sent to that address, so what we hold about you personally is your email address, your name, an optional short name and job title, your sessions, and — if you allowed notifications — the push registration for each device.
Almost everything you can see in Asiri is not yours. It belongs to the workspace you were invited into, and your employer or client is its controller. Deleting your account removes you and what identifies you; it does not delete the workspace or the records the workspace keeps.
How to ask
Write to security@asiri.ng from the email address the account is held under, and say that you want the account deleted. That is the whole procedure — there is no form and no phone call.
We will reply from the same address to confirm it was you asking. We ask because answering somebody else about your account would itself be the breach we exist to prevent. If you no longer control the address, say so in the message and we will agree another way to establish that it is you.
You can also ask from inside the Asiri app: Account, then “Delete your account”, which opens this page and offers to write the message for you.
What happens, and when
We act within 30 days of confirming it is you, and usually far sooner. You are told when it is done.
Your memberships end, so you lose access to every workspace you belonged to. Your sessions are closed on every device. Your push registrations are removed, so nothing reaches your lock screen. Your name, email address, short name and job title are erased from the account record.
What we keep, and why we will not pretend otherwise
Messages you wrote to colleagues stay in the workspace, attributed to a person who is no longer named. They are the workspace’s record of its own work, and its controller — not Asiri — decides how long they are kept. If you want them removed as well, ask the workspace owner; we will act on their instruction.
Entries in a workspace’s audit trail that record something you did are kept. An audit trail that can be edited by the person it records is not an audit trail, and the workspaces on Asiri rely on theirs to show a regulator what happened.
Invoices and the ledger lines behind them are kept for as long as Nigerian tax law requires, where you were the person who paid.
Nothing else survives. We do not keep a shadow copy “in case you come back”.
If you own the workspace
Deleting a workspace is a different act with different consequences for other people, so it is not folded into this one. A workspace owner can request it in the product — Account, then “Leaving Asiri” — and the whole of the workspace’s data can be exported first, without charge. That request is recorded, and the deletion runs from it.
If we get it wrong
The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 gives you the right to have your data deleted where nothing lawful requires us to keep it, and the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if we do not. You do not have to come to us first, though we would rather you did.
What we collect and how long we keep it is set out in full in the privacy notice.
